This process is to motivate writers who tend to run into that walk that gives them writer block. These quotes are from some of our famous writers such as Don Murray, Ernest Hemingway, Kurt Vonnegut and myself.
Quote 1: “ No matter how careful our criticisms, they do not help the student since when we teach composition we are not teaching a product, we are teaching a process.”- Don Murray Quote 2: “And you don’t learn a process by talking about it, but by doing it. Next by placing the opportunity for discovery in your student’s hands. “ - Don Murray Quote 3: “We must listen carefully for those words that may reveal a truth, that may reveal a voice. We must respect our student for his potential truth and for his potential voice. “ - Don Murray Quote 1: “The desk in the room, near the bed, with a good light, midnight till dawn, a drink when you get tired, preferably at home, but if you have no home, make a home out of your hotel room or motel room or pad: peace.” - Jack Kerouac Quote 2: “In an unmoored life like mine, sleep and hunger and work arrange themselves to suit themselves, without consulting me. I’m just as glad they haven’t consulted me about the tiresome details.” - Kurt Vonnegut Quote 3: “When I am working on a book or a story I write every morning as soon after first light as possible. There is no one to disturb you and it is cool or cold and you come to your work and warm as you write. “ - Ernest Hemingway Quote 1: “Close your eyes and get quiet for a minute, until the chatter starts up” - (Lamott-8) Quote 2:”My first response if they have a lot of suggestions is never profound relief that I have someone in my life who will be honest with me and help me do the very best work of which I am capable.” - (Lamott-10) Quote 3:”It reminds me that all I have to do is write down as much as I can see through a one-inch picture frame” My Quotes Quote 1:”Take a sec… look around… It’s now or later”- DWJ Quote 2:” When I wake up I take a quick stretch and get right to it, I make breakfast do some push ups, shower… Im ready”- DWJ Quote 3:” Live to write, write to live, until published”- DWJ
